Mining With Integrity

Mining With Integrity

In 1915, significant mineral deposits were discovered deep within the Sooke Mountain range, on the south coast of Vancouver Island. Over the next five decades, the mining operation that would eventually be constructed at this site would employ hundreds of people and extract significant volumes of copper, as well as some silver and gold.

The site has remained dormant ever since.

In May 2014, New Sunro Copper Ltd. purchased the mineral rights to the project, formerly known as the ‘Sunro Copper Mine.’

New Sunro Copper Ltd.’s intention is to re-establish this previously successful mining operation, and mitigate environmental problems caused by nearly four decades of abandonment.

After one hundred years, it is a new day for the New Sunro Copper Ltd. Project.
